The Conventional Medical Community
Most physicians in the United States and Canada consider the only treatment (to be the relief of symptoms) with pharmaceuticals, such as Proscar or surgical removal of the prostate gland either through a transurethral resection (TUR) or surgical prostatectomy. Rarely will a physician recommend a natural course of therapy for prostate problems, due to their lack of knowledge in the area of natural healing.
The majority of the drugs recommended for prostate treatment have contraindications, which can cause other problems including impotence, rapid heart rate, ataxia, nausea, elevated blood pressure, and headaches. Problems have also occurred with a number of these drugs that tend to make the blood levels of proteins released from the prostate resulting in false positive PSA results.
Prostatectomy can be a debilitating surgery and the patient can spend from 4-6 weeks recuperating with the additional side effects of becoming impotent in 70% of patients and incontinence in 40 of all patients.
