How Sterols/Sterolins Help to Lower Cholesterol Levels
- Numerous scientific and clinical studies, both on humans and animals have proven that sterols/sterolins (Beta-sitosterol) has the ability to lower serum cholesterol levels in as little as 30 days.
- The chemical composition of Beta-sitosterol is closely related to that of serum cholesterol; however, the function is totally different. In fact, Beta-sitosterol has the ability to interfere with the absorption of cholesterol, allowing the liver more time to trap the circulating cholesterol and remove it.
- Beta-sitosterol actually has the ability to fool the cells into accepting it as replacement for cholesterol.
- Studies have shown that to lower serum cholesterol levels it would take a regimen of sterols/sterolins of about 300mg per day for 30 days and require no dietary changes or exercise program.
- Studies related to cholesterol absorption by microsomes proved that Beta-sitosterol was effective in lowering cholesterol as well as triglyceride levels.
- Consumption of plant fats by vegetarians also showed that this group had the overall lower cholesterol levels of any groups studied.
