Prevention and Treatment of Prostate Cancer
- Over the age of 50 men should have a blood screening test called a Protein Specific Antigen test (PSA). This test measures the level of a protein released into the bloodstream by prostate cells. If cancer is present the blood level is very high.
- A significant cause of prostate cancer is poor dietary habits, education and supplementation of sterols/sterolins is a must.
- Nutritional supplementation should include a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral antioxidant product as well as sterol/sterolins.
- Diets that include adequate amounts of fruits, vegetables and whole grains have proven to also help alleviate a number of symptoms.
- Asian dietary habits lead to a reduction in prostate cancer in that society.
- Common sense dictates that men over age 40 should begin a regimen of a combination of nutritional supplements that should include a sterol/sterolin product in an all-natural form and preferably a 6:1 ratio.
- Additional supplements are also effective in controlling the symptoms of prostatic enlargement and cancer. These include most antioxidants, especially selenium, beta-carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E and the minerals copper, zinc (as OptiZincTM) and manganese.
- Supplementation needs to be continued for at least 2-3 weeks to achieve results and should continue indefinitely.
