Relationship of Sterol/Sterolins (Beta-Sitosterol) to Auto-immune Diseases
When the immune system malfunctions and becomes overactive, the immune system B-cells tend to produce antibodies, which attack and destroy healthy cells, causing autoimmune diseases, the more common of which are lupus (SLE), MS, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and psoriasis.
The mechanism that comes into play when taking sterols/sterolins is that the plant fat tends to activate the suppressor cells (T-cells) to tell the B-cells to stop overproducing the destructive antibodies.
