The Role of Sterols/Sterolins in Fighting HIV/AIDS

• Sterols tend to provide a nutrient for the immune system assisting it to fight infections, which are a serious problem with HIV-positive patients.
• Researchers have proven that sterols and sterolins (glucoside) have the ability to assist in maintaining CD4 lymphocyte counts over an extended period.
• Studies from South Africa show an important positive result utilizing sterols/sterolins in the multi-stage treatment of HIV.
• Clinical trials by Professor Bouic and his colleagues at the medical school's department of medical microbiology at the University of Stellenbosch established that plant sterols/sterolins stimulated and even regulated the immune system when treating 200 HIV-positive patients since 1992.
• The groups' T-cell counts stabilized, as did the T-cell counts of full-blown AIDS patients.
• Plant fats, while not a cure for AIDS, do increase the life span of HIV-positive patients.
