Sterols, Sterolins,
Beta-Sitosterol, Phytosterols, Phytonutrients, Phytochemicals, Etc.
There are presently as many new words to describe plant fats and chemical nutrient extractions as there are new products. To address this confusion in terminology, we need to understand more about the extraction process and manufacturing of these products. Sterols, sterolins, Beta-sitosterol and phytosterols are "plant fats." However, the quality of the plant fat and the subsequent bioavailability to the body (what will determine whether you will actually acquire enough of the plant fat to be of some benefit) is the primary concern of Cove Mountain Health.
Most companies that market plant fats are marketing a "chemically extracted" product produced by a heat-chemical process, which allows only a percentage of sterols/sterolins to actually remain bioactive. This percentage may be as low as 5% or as high as 40% depending on the quality of the processing. The plant fats are in most instances extracted from soybeans or tall pine oil, however, almost any fruit, vegetable or white grain can be used.
A number of plant fat products on the market advertise that they are "all-natural" but fail to tell you that the product is still a chemically extracted product.
These chemically extracted products do work. A degree of success has been proven with literally thousands of studies and research papers to attest to the success of these products. In 1998, however, a new process was invented that could extract the plant fats from sprouts. It was not necessary to chemically extract plant fats anymore and we now have the higher quality plant fat products available.
The new process isolates the natural plant fats in concentrated form – from the sprouts, which are the best source of plant fats. Hydroponically grown, they are harvested as soon as they sprout. This method of obtaining the plant fats from the finest and purest source then freeze-drying the plant fats has produced a new "all-natural" product that is truly "all-natural" and that does not require chemical extraction methods. The level of bioavailability is high due to the enzymatic activity and the testimonials after taking the product have been nothing short of unbelievable.
Sterolins, even though they are harvested, attached to the sterols, are actually a pre-sugar (glucoside) that plays a very active role in assisting in the level of bioactivity of the sterols effectiveness.
Cove Mountain Health is committed to marketing only the finest quality plant fat product that can be naturally extracted and in the most effective "sterol ratio."
