What is the Prostate Gland?
The Prostate gland is located at the base of the bladder and is about the size of a peach pit, except it is shaped like a donut and surrounds the urethra (tube that carries urine from the bladder.) When the prostate becomes enlarged it tends to place pressure on the tube and slow the flow of urine. The prostate gland is composed of numerous glands, which supply 95% of the seminal fluid that transports sperm in the male reproductive system.
Problems with the prostate need to be attended to when symptoms occur. If these problems are allowed to progress unchecked they may lead to a number of urinary system problems and especially urinary tract infections. < Previous Section: A Non-toxic, Safe Nutrient | Next Section: Why Enlarged Prostate Occurs in Men over 40 >
